10 Things You Might Have Missed This Week: Fall Campaigns and Summertime Launches

Prada in motion, Donna Karan taps their supermodels, and Chanel loves Paris.

As we enter the lazy days of August, everything has quieted down. The emails? A trickle. The projects? Wrapped up and no longer hanging over your head. Time and life seems to be going by more slowly, a welcome relief before fall kicks up all over again. And speaking of fall, more ads have popped up to point out that we are indeed approaching the tail end of the year. From the likes of Chanel, which makes a case for October in Paris to Tory Burch, which offers New York City as another autumnal delight, before long we’ll be shedding tanks and shorts for sweaters and trousers. For Prada, motion seems to be the theme, a fitting reminder that lazing by the pool can only last for so long. And finally Donna Karan’s latest social campaign is an ode to the brand’s iconic seven easy pieces, a capsule wardrobe for the woman who is on-the-go.

Read on to learn more and catch up on what else you might have missed.

Prada in Motion

Clothes are meant to be lived in, creasing, folding, and swaying as one goes about their days instead of remaining still on a dressform. It’s this sensibility that inspires Prada’s fall/winter 2025 campaign as created by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons. With images that capture the energy of life in motion, models make their way through everyday spaces as a collective, reflecting a freer, more instinctive approach to fashion. There’s a sense of fluidness and aliveness, pausing to spotlight the elegance of imperfection and the power of moving together. Short films accompany the campaign, using slow-motion 360 capture to turn fleeting gestures into mini movies of human movement.

Celine Opens in Short Hills Mall

New Jersey Celine fans take note: no longer will you need to head to Manhattan to satisfy your Triomphe cravings. The brand announced that their newest shop at the mall at Short Hills in Millburn is officially open. Located on the second floor, the 240 square foot space features men’s and women’s seasonal ready-to-wear, leather goods, accessories, as well as their haute parfumerie. At the moment you’ll find summery staples like raffia bags, floral printed jackets and miniskirts, and plenty of flat footwear, meant for beachy walks or vacation explorations. And the best part? NJ’s handy tax exemption on clothes and accessories, making it that much more tempting to indulge in your next purchase.

Chanel Looks to the Charms of Paris For Fall

Euro summer? Chanel would like to suggest Euro fall instead, namely heading to Paris and enveloping yourself in its cinematic surroundings. For their fall 2025 campaign, shot by Mikael Jansson, and starring model Mona Tougaard, the two transport us to charming cafes and Haussmannian building lined streets. Clad in the season’s best tweeds like a deconstructed cape over a mini dress or a white blouse under a waistcoat, the black-and-white images celebrate the City of Lights while capturing the interesting volumes and textures of the looks. As always, the brand’s signature pearls, bows, and chains add extra charm. Find the new season in stores now.

The Met’s Next Exhibit Will Feature Plenty of Schiaparelli

As Superfine: Tailoring Black Style winds down, closing at the end of October, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is gearing up for another fashion meets art exhibit. Man Ray: When Objects Dream will showcase over 150 pieces and delves into the artist’s boundary-pushing ‘rayographs’ and experimentation across photography, film, painting, and sculpture. One muse that played heavily in Man Ray’s work? Elsa Schiaparelli. The two shared a love of surrealism that helped redefine their relationship between fashion and art. It’s no surprise then that Schiaparelli, the brand, will be supporting this exhibit, reinforcing creative director Daniel Roseberry’s commitment to championing creativity. It opens September 14th and runs through February 1st 2026.

Nostalgia Meets Modernity For Donna Karan’s Newest Campaign

Since the brand’s inception the Donna Karan woman has always been unapologetic in her ability to combine glamour grounded in a sense of realism and practicality. So it’s no surprise then that for their summer 2025 social campaign they turned to some iconic muses from the past to celebrate those qualities. Starring the likes of Esther Cañadas, Helena Christensen, Isabeli Fontana, and Cindy Bruna, women who helped shape the Donna Karan legacy, the quartet wear the brand’s signature Seven Easy Pieces. First introduced 40 years ago, these wardrobe staples remain as ever relevant as essentials designed for modern life. Building on their “In Women We Trust” narrative, this new chapter offers intimate interviews and behind-the-scenes glimpses into each woman’s personal connection to the brand. Shot by Christian Ferretti with creative direction by Trey Laird, the campaign reaffirms Donna Karan’s vision of dressing women with clarity, ease, and intention.

Miu Miu Returns to Art Basel Paris

After their immersive Tales and Tellers at Art Basel Paris 2024, Miu Miu has announced they’ll be returning to the contemporary art fair for 2025 as an official partner. This year, they’ll be hosting 30 Blizzards, a new performance by Turner Prize-winner Helen Marten. Staged at the historic Palais d’Iéna from October 22nd to 26th 2025, the show marks Marten’s first endeavor into performance, merging sculpture, video, libretto, and movement. Developed with director Fabio Cherstich and composer Beatrice Dillon, 30 Blizzards explores themes of identity, time, and transformation.

Take a Trip With Gap x Béis

American Heritage Meets Japanese Avant-Garde

Spend any time thrifting in Japan and you’ll notice a deep appreciation for Americana, be it deadstock denim or perfectly preserved flannels. And while you may not be able to head there to explore all of the wonders the vintage stores there have to offer, a new collaboration brings together the best of both worlds. Filson, the American heritage outfitter, is joining forces with Junya Watanabe for another season. The capsule collection, which was first shown back in Paris during the men’s shows in January, is finally hitting stores. Consisting of utilitarian outerwear you’ll find a reimagined version of the Mackinaw Cruiser jacket, a style originally made for Pacific Northwest forestry workers. You’ll also find work vests, shirting, and more, all given the Watanabe makeover in the form of asymmetrical patterns and unexpected material juxtapositions. Find it at Filson locations in New York and Los Angeles as well as online and at Dover Street Market starting August 6th.

A Very New York Fall With Tory Burch

No one loves New York as much as Tory Burch. For the brand’s fall 2025 runway presentation, they took over the Museum of Modern Art, staging a two floor show that featured twists on American sportswear. As a follow up comes their fall ad campaign starring the likes of Lulu Tenney, Selena Forrest, Hejia Li, Ida Heiner and Nora Attal as photographed by Jamie Hawkesworth. Highlighting the season’s best, it’s classic wardrobe elements that are meant to play nicely within your existing closet. From slouchy trousers to midi skirts to athletic inspired pants, you can envision the Tory woman running about town stylishly in these pieces. Highlights to note include the Kira turnlock bag which features sharp angles and graphic hardware as well as the Reva ballet flat — yes, they’re most definitely back.
